Central Montana Search and Rescue is helping citizens and visitors enjoy the Montana backcountry and get home safely.
Our remote terrain can be unforgiving. CMSAR specializes in strenuous and technical rescues, getting you home or to medical care as quickly as possible.
When your friend or family member is overdue or missing, CMSAR will bring our manpower and training to bear to help locate them.
We work with community organizations to teach everyone how to get outdoors safely. We are blessed to call Montana home; let's enjoy it!
Keep up with our work here in Fergus county.
Facebook InstagramThe Fergus County Sheriff’s Office is responsible for all search and rescue functions in the county. We work under the authority of the Sheriff. If this is an emergency, please call 911 now and help will be on its way!
To report an overdue party, call the Central Montana Dispatch non-emergency line at (406) 353-1800. Call once you suspect something may not be right; time is important.
We are actively recruiting community-minded individuals. Outdoor, medical, or first responder experience is not required, but you will need to love learning, and have a passion to serve. As a CMSAR volunteer responder, you will sharpen your skills at our monthly trainings and use them to help others in moments of crisis.
